Free Kidney Health Screening
On Saturday, October 3, the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois is bringing its KidneyMobile to our parking lot. The screening is free, it is open to anyone in the community, and you do not need to be a member here to come.

What is included
The screening is run by trained medical staff from the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois. In one visit you can expect:
- Two urine tests, checking for things like protein, blood, and signs of dehydration
- A blood glucose check
- An A1c test for anyone with diabetes, or if the glucose reading comes back high
- Blood pressure
- Height, weight, and waist measurement
- A blood draw for anyone at higher risk of kidney disease
Come ready to give a urine sample. You do not need to fast beforehand, so eat and drink normally before you come.
When the testing is finished, you sit down with a doctor, nurse practitioner, or nurse to go over your results. You take a printed copy home, and if anything needs following up, they will point you toward the right kind of care.
Pre-register to save time. The intake form asks about your medical history so the staff can assess your risk before you arrive. Filling it out ahead of time means less waiting in line on the day.
Why we are hosting it
Kidney disease is easy to miss. It often causes no symptoms until a great deal of function is already gone, and a simple test can catch it early. Opening our building for a morning is a small way to be useful to our neighbors in Palos Hills, and we are glad to do it.
There is no program, no presentation, and no obligation attached. Come, get tested, and go. If you would like to know more about the assembly while you are here, someone will be happy to talk with you.
Common questions
Do I have to register in advance?
No. You can walk in any time between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Pre-registering fills out the medical history form ahead of time, so it usually means a shorter wait once you arrive.
Do I need insurance?
No. The screening is free and nothing is billed to anyone. The only paperwork is a short health questionnaire, which you can complete ahead of time by pre-registering.
Do I need to fast beforehand?
No. Eat and drink as you normally would. You will be asked for a urine sample, so plan for that rather than for fasting.
Where do I park, and where do I go?
Park in the main lot and come in through the side door, then take the stairs down. The screening is set up in the lower level. Signs will be posted, but no one will be stationed outside, so look for the side entrance rather than the main doors.
If you use a wheelchair or cannot manage stairs, come in through the main entrance instead and take the elevator down to the lower level.
Is this a diagnosis?
No. It is a screening. The staff review your results with you on the day and refer you to a healthcare provider if anything needs a closer look.
Can I bring a family member?
Yes. Anyone 18 or over is welcome to be screened, whether or not they attend here. Children are welcome to come along, but the screening itself is for adults.
